Official explanation of poor communication with RCDrift.io and Timmy Woo

Official explanation of poor communication with RCDrift.io and Timmy Woo

26th October 2026

On the evening of 24 October, following the lower bracket round of the RCDrift.io Autumn Major, the team was informed that a driver in the Upper 16 bracket had fallen unwell and would be unable to attend Sunday's tournament.

The team made a quick, poor and unprofessional decision to qualify five drivers instead of four to fill the vacant spot, believing this would improve the event and its production.

As Timmy Woo had finished the lower bracket tournament in fifth place (based on results and seeding), the team informed Timmy Woo and Tony Woo that they had qualified for Sunday's event.

However, following further deliberation with the wider team, this decision was revoked.

RCDrift.io would like to formally apologise to both Timmy Woo and Tony Woo, as well as the other drivers who were competing, for this poor judgement. We will take greater care with our planning and decision-making at future events.
